Joanne Stevens
January 4, 2011
Dear family; You dont know me but I was an aquaintence of Kats and I attended her funeral. I didnt know her very well but in the time I did spend with her, I could see that she was a great person and a wonderful mother. When I heard what happend, I was so deeply disterbed. I'm so sorry for your loss. It really is a loss to the entire world because I know Katherine was going to do great things with the new life she was creating. Its almost been 2years since this tragedy, and I still think about her everyday. I hope that it gives you some comfort to know that Katherine is not forgotten. She was the sweetest person who's smile could light up the room. She is truely missed.

Dear Family of Katherine Marie Voelker, Please accept my condolences on the April 22, 2009 tragic death of your beloved Katherine. I relate to your grief as I am a bereaved parent, having suddenly lost my daughter, Melinda Rose Silva, @ age 28, on 1/6/05.
In addition to expressing my condolences to you, I write to those of you living in the greater Modesto area, to let you know that I and several other area bereaved parents formed last Spring the Modesto/Riverbank Area Chapter of The Compassionate Friends, a non-profit, non-sectarian, self-help grief support group for parents, grandparents & adult siblings (18 & over) who have experienced the death of a child of any age due to any cause at any time. We have 2nd Thursday of the month evening meetings (which include special resources for the bereaved) and special events where we can share about and/or be supported in our deep grief journeys.
If you would like more information or "just to talk" (perhaps about the specialness of Katherine), you're invited and encouraged to contact me, Joanna Rose-Murray, @ 209-484-8276, [email protected], www.tcfmodesto-riverbankarea.org.
My prayers and healing thoughts are with you during this very difficult time of your deep grief journey.
May you experience some blessings along the way, Joanna

One of my best memories of Kat is when I visited you in Cali and how comfortable and welcome she made me feel. She was little then but she had a big heart.
I know she's looking down on you and cheering you on.

Dear Elena, After a full year I still don't have words to tell you how sorry I am for the loss of your daughter. I remember meeting Kat once, she was just a little tiny girl. You were away for the day, but I got to meet and visit with her and Jenny. She had a very sweet spirit and was a precious little girl. God bless you.
