Lisa Holmes Obituary

Lisa Corrine Holmes
July 9, 1958 - September 8, 2015
Lisa (Lee Lee, Peanut Pusher, Mama Bear) Corrine (Ratzlaff) Holmes passed away in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family,  on the evening of Tuesday September 8th, 2015. Lisa was born to Geraldine and Leslie Ratzlaff in Turlock California on July 9, 1958. She is survived by her mother Geraldine Ratzlaff (Gerry), husband Greg Holmes (Dear), son Zach Holmes (Zachman), daughter Chelsea Jacobs (Cheech) and  husband Lee, step granddaughter Mia, brother Fred Ratzlaff, and sister Leslie Soghoian. Lisa and Greg were married for 35 adventurous and loving years. They met 37 years ago in Yosemite National Park and Mammoth Lakes,  where their friendship blossomed into love. Their relationship was filled with beauty and strength, a love so admirable.
Lisa was a vivacious and loving mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who could always brighten your day and add excitement to your life. Her positive energy was infectious, and her presence was always known. She was a beautiful woman inside and out. Her modesty was humbling and her capabilities were endless. She was a petite powerhouse and ran in multiple marathons and races, hiked Mount Whitney, the John Muir Trail, Half Dome, and many more trails. She thrived in the outdoors and in nature, and boy did she love her animals, always spoiling and loving on her many dogs and kitties. They were by her side till the end.
She was a Registered Nurse for 20 plus years in a variety of departments. She had always been a comforter and healer. She was continually on the go, it was even hard to keep up with her when walking. She loved to travel and experience the world's beauties with her family. She was a go getter and a daredevil, always able to one up even her kids. She had a competitive spirit and the drive to complete whatever she put her mind to. She was very handy, just like her late father Les Ratzlaff. If something needed fixing, she was out there working on it. She was never afraid to get her hands dirty and made sure to instill a hard work ethic in her children. Her sense of humor and laughter was contagious, she was never afraid to cross the line and be a hilarious entertainer. Her work stories and impressions will be missed by all.
Lisa Holmes was a lover, a naturalist, a nurturer, an inspiration to all, who never ceased to amaze you. She would tell you like it was, having an honest heart to the core. She will stay in our hearts forever. We love you Mama Bear.
Lisa's Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday September 27th at Del Rio Vista Gardens located at 25306 E River Rd, Escalon, CA 95320. The service will begin at 1pm. Lisa lived a colorful and vibrant life, please dress in colors that will honor her beautiful spirit.
