I was blessed to be apart of Lou's family. The Stringer's had moved from SanDiego area so Lou could start his Teaching career and I became an Auntie to his kids . They took me in like family- loved his since of humor. One best memories was when I went to the house & he answered the door w/half a mustache . He told me to be quiet about it because Nancy hadn't noticed. So I didn't say a thing. Condolences to the family and friends. He fought a good fight with Nancy at his side. Rest in peace my friend. Who will I buy superbowl squares with. It was our fun !!!! Love Anna W.

Sending prayers for all of your family. Lou was a wonderful human being wonderful teacher. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years at Oakdale High School my daughter Brittany had him as a ceramics teacher her senior year and we still have those little treasures she made in his class. Mr. Stringer will always be one of my favorite teachers. He taught my mom pottery in the 70´s and I got to enjoy his class in the 90´s.
He sure was fun and funny! I´ll remember him fondly. Sending my deepest condolences to his family and all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

The 4 years I spent at OHS in Mr. Stringer´s Ceramics class will always be cherished by me. Last year Lou reached out to me, and actually sent me a wheel-thrown pot I had made back in 2002. It was truly a blast from the past and took me right back to the time I spent on the wheel all those years ago, with him looking on beside me at his desk, smiling, listening to Journey. I´ll never forget those moments. Mr. Stringer will be sorely missed. Happy to see all the lives he touched; like mine. God bless you and your family. Deepest condolences.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Lou was a fellow teacher at Oakdale High and a really cool guy. Always a pleasure to be around Lou and enjoy his sense of humor and enthusiasm. He showed so much expression as he would relate a story. He is missed.

I was a student of his in Riverbank, he was wonderful, a keen sense of humor, though I possessed no talent for art, he still encouraged me to try.....He was one of our 1977 "Grad Night" Disneyland chaperones. Disney had a VERY strict dress code, the guys in suits and ties, girls dresses or a pantsuit. Upon entering Disneyland, tickets were checked along with attire, I noticed Mr. Stringer was under extreme scrutiny by the Disney officials, his tie was the problem, reason? It was ceramic! He was stating his case with the androit ability an attorney would have before the Supreme Court of the United States! He said that the dress code merely stated, "Tie", no material was designated......He passed through the turnstile triumphant!.....I wonder if the next years' dress code declared what type of tie would be permissible.....I am truly sorry for your loss......
