LUPE LOPEZ PULIDO FEB. 20, 1927 - JUNE 24, 2007 Lupe was the beloved mother of Mario Pulido (along with his wife Laura), grandmother to Andrea and Anthony. Her loving husband Abel preceded her in death. Lupe is survived by her sister Emily Ortega.
Lupe was an extraordinary woman that always was more concerned with the welfare of others than herself. Lupe was born to Seturnina and Juan Lopez in Riverbank. Many local customers became like family at Abel and Lupe's Cafe where the Chile Verde, the enchiladas and ice cream bars for the kids were the trademarks.
Her passions included trips to Lake Tahoe, her grandchildren, her dog Pancha and reading.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Orangeburg Manor for their love and compassion. The family expresses special thanks to Connie Aldana for all the love that she felt for her Mama Lupe.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-9:00 pm, with Rosary at 7:30 pm, both on Thursday, June 28th; at McHenry Chapel- Franklin & Downs. Mass will be at 1:00 pm., Friday at St. Stanislaus Church. Entombment will follow at St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Lupe's favorite charitable organization ~ Father John Silva Foundation, 709 J Street, Modesto 95354.

Dear Mario,
I am so sorry I didn't have another chance to see my nina. I was just asking for her address and telephone to see her this month.
She was an extremely generous person. I will always have fond memories of her.

My daughters and I have SUCH good memories about Abel & Lupe's Cafe. We spent many, many days/nights eating there. Lupe was the sweetest nicest lady ever and to this day I have never found food as good - and I've looked. Her enchiladas and especially her RICE! Much love and deepest sympathy. Donna Morgan McKinnon

Our Tia Lupe was a woman ahead of her time. She taught us what it meant to be a strong woman, to love her family, and to give back to those in need. The memories we have are priceless, the times shared with her throughout the years were memorable, and a part of us left with her. To those who knew her, you were blessed, and to one's that met her through the stories from family and friend's, you would have loved her as we all did. Tia, we will miss your wit, charm, good advice, and most of all your unconditional love that you gave to us. May God keep you safe in his light with your beloved Abel. Our loss is now his gain, as the circle is complete and you are whole again. I love you with all my heart. My children, my mother, your sister Emily and I(vieja)will miss you.

Lupe was a dear friend who will always remain in my memory. (I really will never forget the beans she served at Mando's birthday party one time!) She was a very special person and always so nice to my family and me. It was an honor to know her.
