Marc Aloysius Fehring, 60, passed away on June 15th in Modesto. Marc graduated from Ashland University, being a part of the Phi Kappa PSI Fraternity. Marc Participated in 3 NCAA track & field championships as a pole vaulter. He was an accomplished adventurer, by his travels throughout the world, enjoying both various peoples and cultures. Marc also enjoyed hiking, mountain climbing, and camping. He was an avid sportsman, and had been a California high school referee for 25 years. Furthermore, he was an accomplished disc golfer and played throughout his many travels. Marc is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Norma Fehring. He is survived by his two brothers and two sisters, one stepson, two step grandchildren, eight nieces and nephews, and five great nieces and nephews. A visitation and service for Marc will be held at Franklin & Downs Funeral Home's McHenry Chapel on Saturday, June 20th 2015 at 9-10 AM; followed by a 10 AM service the same day. Committal will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Hillsboro, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Leukemia Society. My deepest condolences to the Fehring family and Justin. Many fond memories of growing up in Hillsboro, Ohio and especially the last 30 years we were connected up again in California sharing many great trips to the mountains, fishing, camping, and backpacking. Countless concerts, fairs, festivals and sharing fun times with our mutual friends. Road trips in California and the big New England vacation in 2001. His advice on many of life's issues will be missed but always remembered. Rest in Peace my adventurer friend
