Pete Heguy Jr. was born August 1, 1956 and passed away on January 31, 2014. Born and raised in Los Banos, California, Pete made the town his permanent home. For 39 years, he worked at the Los Banos Abattoir. Pete worked his way up from cleaning corrals at the age of 18, to eventually becoming the general manager. He was an avid sports fan, and enjoyed coaching his children's sports teams when they were younger. In his recent free time, Pete built a successful cattle business, spent his summers deer hunting, and enjoyed time with his family and friends. To those who knew him well, Pete was considered the BBQ king - rain or shine.
He is survived by his children Pierre Heguy III and Jennifer Schroeder (Casey); granddaughter Gemma Schroeder; mother Marguerite Heguy; sisters Colette Iturbide (Gabriel) and Jeannette Brown (John); nieces Nicole Noordman and Chelsea Brown and nephew Dominique Iturbide. Pete was preceded in death by his father, Pete Heguy Sr., nephew Paul Iturbide, and niece Jaime Brown.
A rosary and mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2014 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Los Banos. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Whitehurst Funeral Chapel.
