Peter Norrell Jr.
July 7, 1919 – May 1, 2017
Peter Norrell Jr. was born July 7, 1919 in Richmond, Virginia to Dellar and Peter Norrell, Sr. He passed away May 1, 2017, in Modesto, California. He graduated from high school in Richmond, Virginia.
Peter served in the US Army from 1941 to 1946 with many tours of duty, including ones in Kentucky, Arizona and Maryland. After his service, he was employed at the Mare Island Naval Yards where he met his wife, Bobbi, who passed away in 1976. He came to Modesto in the early 50's and was employed by Stanislaus County until his retirement.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Rosa. He is survived by a niece, Jackie Stewart of Richmond, Virginia, a grandniece, Tabrica Stewart of Montecello, New York, two nephews-John Stewart of Amhearst, Virginia and James Bobby Stewart; also a Godson, Daniel Simpson of Ceres, California, and a host of other relatives and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. in the Heritage Chapel at Lakewood Memorial Park, 900 Santa Fe Avenue, Hughson, California. Following there will be a reception at the Second Baptist Church, 529 California Avenue, Modesto, California.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice and A Prestige Living for their loving care in his final days.
