Roberta Frances Gottschalk
March 13, 1941 - June 19, 2016
Roberta Frances (Clement) Gottschalk, 75, of Modesto, passed away Sunday, June 19th, at Doctors Medical Center, Modesto. The service will be held Tuesday, July 12, at 11 am, at Heritage Chapel, Lakewood Memorial Park.
She was born in Santa Monica, CA., on March 13, 1941, to C. Melvin Clement and Doris Frances (Mowery) Clement.
Dec. 21, 1959, she married Clayton Gottschalk, in Modesto.  
Survivors include her husband, CK Gottschalk; 2 sons; John R. Gottschalk (Atwater, CA), Kenneth C. Gottschalk (Modesto, CA); brother, Robert M. Clement (Janet)(Medford, OR),2 grandsons, 6 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
Roberta retired from Gottschalk Music Center in July, 2011. Previous employment included Gottschalk Flight Center, The Modesto City School District and Beautician.
Roberta was very active in the community.  From her early days heading the PTA at Garrison Elementary to saxophonist in the New Horizons Band.  She loved flying and was a member of the Gottschalk Flying Club, and the 99's (Female Pilots Organization). She received several awards in Spot Landing Competitions.  Always the attentive mother, she was a member of the Grace Davis High School Band Boosters in the 80's and the PTA. 
In 2004 Roberta initiated the Oakdale Mama's, a Chapter of the Red Hat Society.  Roberta joined the Classy Ladies Bowling League and the Reno Mixed Bowling League with CK.  She was an avid artist and musician.  She currently was working on a 3-D paint style.  She sewed from her youth and through the years became a skillful seamstress.
Roberta and CK flew their Cessna to Canada and Michigan. Enjoying several cruises; Alaska, Mexico and Europe.  USA travel included Hawaii, DC, Virginia, and Branson, MO.
Roberta relished her time with friends and family. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother and aunt and a faithful friend who could be depended upon in time of need. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Emily B. Gottschalk Scholarship Fund, Modesto Junior College, 435 College Ave., Modesto 95350.
