March 28, 1945 - February 7, 2024
Modesto, California - The family of Wayne Leroy Knox sadly announce his passing on February 7, 2024, at his home. He was surrounded by friends and family. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and dear friend. Wayne was born in Santa Monica, California to Elmer and Eula Knox.
Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Beverley, his daughter, Charlyn Bigham, son, Kent Walton and grandchildren, Emily Tiffin, Blake Bigham, Sara Walton, Korey Walton and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Michael Knox (Carmen}, nephews, Kevin & Scott Knox, and his niece, Michelle Knox Blumenberg (Fred}. He was predeceased by his parents and brother, Kenneth Knox
Wayne graduated from Sandpoint High School. He received an AA Degree from Modesto Jr. College and attended Fresno State. Wayne began his 45 years career in the wine industry at Gallo Winery. He left Gallo for a position at Franzia Winery (The Wine Group). He also worked for Canandaigua and Bronco and ended his career with The Wine Group.
Wayne loved hosting his family and friends in his home where he could show off his love of cooking and pairing wines! He and Beverley traveled extensively but his home away from home was always Mexico. Shortly after retirement he and Beverley were able to live 8 years in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico hosting many family members and friends, sharing his love of Cabo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on March 17th at 2:00pm in the Copper Creek Clubhouse (4141 Copper Creek Drive, Modesto}. The family asks that remembrances be made to his favorite charity: Feeding Los Cabos Kids, Mail to: Cabo English Church MBC, 2215 Paseo de la Americas, Suite 25-M119, San Diego, CA 92154
