LUCILLE BOYER Obituary
She retired with her husband, Clarence, to the Topock/Golden Shores area in 1994.
Luke joined the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6306 as the community service writer. She also was a reporter for the school sports and activities. She soon became a string reporter for the Mohave Valley Daily News, the Golden Shores and Topock Topics newspapers. She received many awards and acknowledgements for her tireless contributions to the local area.
The community will surely miss her.
Luke was a widow to her husband, Clarence, of 42 years of marriage.
She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Darlene and James Hollnagel of Riverbank, Calif., Tim and Karen Counts of Hughson, Calif., Don and Sandi Boyer of Clovis, Calif., Lynn and Alvin Love of Oklahoma City, Okla., and David Boyer of Topock; 16 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 5, 2010, at the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 6306, 12852 Oatman Highway, Golden Shores.
Memorial contributions in Lucille's memory may be sent for the school scholarship awards in care of the Ladies Auxiliary Post 6306.

I will never forget her looking around her table with mounds of papers (from her stories) looking for a pencil. I didnt know that was what she was looking for and just kept watching her. After 10 minutes or so I asked her what she was looking for. She told me and all I could do is laugh for a couple of minutes. When I was under control I told her it was behind her ear. I miss you Luke. You were a wonderful Mother-in-Law.
