Janet Evans Obituary
Family and friends may visit from 4 p.m. until services at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home. Rev. Mark Witte, pastor of Grace Lutheran Church, will officiate. Cremation and interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park at a later date.
Born June 27, 1937 in Petersburg, Janet was the daughter of the late Clayton and Lucille (Harvey) Diedrich. She attended Jefferson Schools where she was a cheerleader and their first "Bears" mascot, graduating from Monroe High School in 1955. She remained an avid sports fan throughout her lifetime.
Janet married Clarence R. Evans on June 25, 1960, in Monroe. She was a retired employee of the former Frenchtown Nursing Care Center where she worked as a Ward Clerk for twenty years.
Janet is survived by four sons: Jim (Nancy) Evans of Monroe, Dave (Nancy) Evans of Monroe, Bob (Marie) Evans of Temperance, and Rich Evans of Grand Rapids; two daughters, Leigh (Jim) Roberts of Monroe and Lynn (Adam) Kahn of Britton; a brother, Allen "Sonny" (Barbara) Diedrich of Knoxville, Tennessee; 17 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janet was also preceded in death by three brothers, Norman, Dennis, and Harvey Diedrich.
Memorial donations are suggested to ProMedica Hospice.
