Lydia Mae Lowe

1924 - 2017

Lydia Mae Lowe, 92, a lifetime resident of Monroe, passed away at MediLodge of Monroe on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
She was born on Nov. 2, 1924 in Monroe to Doris and Dorothy (Boudrie) Cloum. She married Edgar Lowe in 1970 in Monroe, sadly, he preceded her in death March 20, 1997.
Lydia was a former member of St. Joseph Church and currently a member of St. John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church. She attended St. Joseph School as a child. Among many hobbies, she enjoyed embroidering pillow cases to give away as gifts. She loved all the time she spent playing with her grandchildren, spending time with them, and was even known to harass them occasionally.
She is survived by her loving daughter, LuAnn (Frank) D'Alessandri of Monroe, 11 adored grandchildren; and 26 cherished great- grandchildren.
As well as her husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ronald Cloum, and 15 brothers and sisters.
Friends are invited to call from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Bacarella Funeral Home, 1201 S. Telegraph Rd., where a scripture service will be held at 5 p.m. that day. She will lie in state Thursday from 9 a.m. until her 9:30 a.m. Mass of the Resurrection at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe. Fr. Jim Smalarz will officiate.
