Psalm 90:10 says that the days of our years are 70 years, And if because of special mightiness they are 80 years.
May the memories of the wonderful times you shared together bring a smile and joy in your heart.

Please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of the late, great Dick Degrosky. He was an exceptional person and an important character during my time living in Flat Rock. He was a great coach, mentor and friend to me and so many others. We spent many hours together and he was there for me in so many ways. And how he made me laugh! RIP Mr D. You are the best.

I graduated from Flat Rock in '97. I had Mr. D as a teacher in 6th grade. I am so sad to hear of his passing. He was such a great teacher. We still talk about how funny he was and about all the stories he use to tell. I know he was an inspiration to many of his students. Praying for his family.

Mr. D was an unforgettable teacher and person. To this day I remember his talks and his jokes! He used to carry a little rock in his pocket that said 'laugh,' and that really inspired fifth-grade me to ask my parents for one. I still have my little laugh rock. Thank you Mr. D and much love to your family.

Mr.D was one of my teachers when I moved to a Flat Rock in 6th grade. He was kind, funny and knew how to diffuse anxiety and discouragement in a blink of an eye for middle school students. He was one of my favorite teachers! However, it wasn't until 7 years later, when my little sister had him as a teacher that we fully understood the depths of his compassion. He not only became her favorite teacher as well, but he championed her as she went through heart surgeries. When she died at the age of 13, he was a balm to our broken hearts as he continued to care for her tree in front of the middle school. He was a great man, in a little town, who made forever lasting impacts in the lives of those he touched! He will be greatly missed!

So many wonderful memories of Mr. D! From Admiring his snake skin shoes,.. to Learning of rocks and minerals by searching and gluing to a shoe box lid... to Creating commercials which taught us how marketing and advertising worked.... to Watching him swing on the rings and fly on the trampoline.... to Listening to him sing Beatles songs- Michelle, my belle. We loved having Mr. D on the track! He was a passionate coach and a positive motivator. I'm welling up as I speak of a teacher/mentor/coach that we've admired over the years... Long live Mr. D's untouchable legacy! We sure loved Mr. D!
God bless his wife and daughters. Peace and love
