Warren Siebarth Obituary

Warren L. Siebarth, age 79, of Monroe, died at 4:10 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 13th at Hickory Ridge Skilled Nursing and Rehab in Temperance. His passing is due to complications from a stroke he suffered five weeks ago.
Family and friends may visit from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. Warren will lie in state at 10 a.m. Thursday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, Ida, where services will be held at 11 a.m. The church pastor, Rev. Ted Kerr will officiate followed by burial at Roselawn Memorial Park, LaSalle.
Born December 23, 1939 in Monroe, Warren was the son of the late Lester and Marie (Weber) Siebarth. He was a 1958 graduate of Dundee High School and married Linda J. Stock on January 26, 1963 at East Ida Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Warren was employed by General Motors in Toledo for 33 years at their Powertrain/Hydramatic Plant from 1960 to 1993. He was elected to the Monroe County Fair Board in 1972 and served as manager for 18 years from 1998 to 2016.
He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and its church council, and the Ida Civic Club. He served on the board of Michigan Association of Fairs and Exhibitions and, along with his wife, was inducted into its Hall of Fame. For 70 years, Warren was active in 4-H and enjoyed collecting old cast-iron banks, company employee badges, along with attending auctions in the Berlin Ohio Amish country and across the midwest.
Warren is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Siebarth; three children, Kevin (Janet) Siebarth of Monroe, Carl (Lynn) Saunders of Milan, and Kellie (John) Christensen of Plymouth, Massachusetts; two brothers, Keith (Jean) Siebarth of Maybee and Bruce (Karen) Siebarth of Britton; sister, Barbara Siebarth of Dundee; and three grandchildren, Drew Siebarth, Sarah Siebarth, and Tyler Saunders.
Memorial donations are suggested to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.

Warren was very helpful when I first got involved with the Eby Cabin and other displays for the museum. I really appreciated his sense of humor. Condolences to his family.
