Barbara Eversoll Ensminger
March 18, 1928 ~ May 18, 2012

PEBBLE BEACH - Barbara was born in Chowchilla, CA on March 18, 1928 to Sidney and Nora (Brockman) Eversoll and died in Tracy, CA on May 18, 2012, surrounded by family. She lived in Pacific Grove and Pebble Beach most of her life. Barbara graduated from Pacific Grove High School in 1944. She and her husband, Norman, lived in Roselle Park, NJ for 19 years where she was an executive secretary for the Boy Scouts of America. She retired in 1993 from Monterey Peninsula School District where she managed the district's budgets. Barbara was an avid seamstress, loved knitting and crocheting. She especially loved card games, word puzzles, her casino time, camping and traveling the United States. She was an active and well-known member of her community and was involved in Girl and Boy Scouting, the PTA, Order of Eastern Star, and the Ham Radio Club to name a few. Barbara was also a member of the Mono Indian tribe out of North Fork, CA.
She is survived by her brother, John Eversoll; and her five children, Barbara Lynn (David) Turpin, Lynda Lee (Michael) Kaplan, Norman (Roxanne) Ensminger, Judith Noreen Easterbrooks and John Wesley Ensminger. Barbara also is survived by eight grandchildren, Jeanne Slattery, Cameron Cloutier, Darell Hunt, Scott Ensminger, Bradley, Allison and Mark Easterbrooks and Michelle Ensminger; and five great-grandchildren.
Her husband of 57 years, Norman Ensminger; her sisters, Helen St. Clair and Geraldine Eversoll; and her brother, Allen Eversoll, all preceded her in death.
A private family service will be held at a later date. Notes may be sent to her daughter, Lee Kaplan at 4109 Sunridge Rd., Pebble Beach, CA 93953 or e-mail at [email protected]. Remembrances may be made in her name to Community Hospital of the Monterey Peninsula, 23625 WR Holman Highway, Monterey, CA 93940 or the Monterey Bay Aquarium, 886 Cannery Row, Monterey, CA 93940.

I am so sorry to hear about Barbara. I haven't seen her in years, but I worked with Barbara for several years at MPUSD. She was my mentor - I learned so much from her. I know she will be missed.

DEAR FAMILY: You had been blessed with such a wonderful mother and I can only imagine the grief you share with the loss of Barbara, your MOM & my "BIG SISTER"!
She meant so much in many different ways to so many people and I too, tho separated by geographic distance, was with her along the road of life. I remain in your life knowing that I too share in your loss and wish you comfort & healing as time progresses.
God Bless all & know that "BIG SISTER" is watching over you & smiling!
