Barbara Tims –Gregorio, 90 of Tuolumne passed away Monday, November 7, 2016. She was born January 31, 1926 in San Francisco, CA.
Barbara grew up in Salinas, where her father & mother were in the agriculture business. She attended schools in Belmont, Notre Dame and several other colleges before settling down with her family, including 8 children, at the Nutting Estate in Arroyo Seco.
She owned & operated Swensen's Ice Cream Parlor in the 1970's. She was a world traveler and lived in Spain after the passing of her beloved husband, Walter John Gregorio. She will be missed by all who knew & loved her.
Barbara was a loving, Mother, Wife and Friend.
She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Danly (Danny) Tims, sister, Nancy Nutting Liggett Swift, and husband, Walter John Gregorio Sr.
She is survived by her Children: Rick Gregorio, Nancy Tims-Salmeri, Jana Marie Tims-Evans, Byron Tims, Sara Tims-Herrin, Kenny Tims, Walter John Gregorio Jr., Anet Tims-Sewell, 16 Grandchildren, 25 Great Grandchildren, and 4 Great Great Grandchildren.
A Rosary will be held 7:00p.m. Friday, December 9, 2016 at Struve and Laporte Chapel, 41 W. San Luis Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.
Memorial Mass will be 11:00a.m. Saturday, December 10, 2016 at St. Joseph Church, 1 Railroad Ave. Spreckels, CA. 93962.
Interment to follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 850 Abbott Street, Salinas, CA. 93901.

Barbara was the eternal optimist who saw the best in life and people. She was such an inspiration to me throughout my life. Every day she lived life to the fullest and her spirit was infectious.

My dearest Barbara - what a legacy of love you gifted us with. I miss you already but will keep your legacy alive by showing those I love how very much I love them daily. Thanks for your laughter, stories, and shenanigans. You taught me that fun is available around every corner and that playing with your friends creates sheer joy! I will love you forever!!

You will be missed, dear Barbara. You were a beautiful friend to our parents and to all six of us kids, too. Who knows how many of us you taught to swim at Arroyo Seco, I've list count. You gave us your smiles, scoldings, chased us out of the breakfast kitchen when we were sneaking food, let us sit in as the "dummy" at bridge in the cabana, served up endless meals and deserts, loved us to pieces and smiled knowlingly when you knew we'd been up to no good again, but didn't tell. And, meanwhile, you and our parents always had a hilariously grand time doing whatever it was you grownups did back in those days. I just remember you all laughing a lot & drinking loads and loving life. You did that well, Barbara. You lived life well. Brava!

My prayers are with you all. I was honored to know Barbara and thoroughly enjoyed the times when she would visit Walter when we were roommates San Diego. She is now with God in heaven and smiling down on all of us.

Barbara you are a loving mother, a caring person, and such an amazing women. I am so blessed to be able to get to know you and to be a part of your life and family circle... So much fun, so much energy, and so much love. I cannot thank you enough for all the great memories...especially that amazing leg of lamb dinner you prepared for Walter and I at Sara's house. It was the best dinner I have ever had and will be the best dinner I have ever had as long as I live. You are a true inspiration and a warrior in Christ. Barbara was the definition of a life well lived. She loved life, family and friends, and had a brilliant mind for Bridge. I loved her stories of past Big Weeks (Calif. Rodeos), as a young lady riding her horse "Queenie" in the daily horse Parades. Hearts were happy and heavy but I know she was there at her Granddaughter's Wedding yesterday at the Carmel Mission (where she was married many years ago). I tend to think Barbara is hosting a party celebrating Anj & Ryan's wedding along with her beloved Walt, son Danny, Sister Nancy, daughter Nancy Grogan, Jane and Hilary to name a few in attendance. God Bless her.
