On June 3, 2015, at the age of 76, Frauke Bomhoff Moore Rountree died after a long battle with cancer.
Mom came to us from Germany. While in nursing school, she met a soldier, Frank Moore, who swept her off her feet and brought her to America. Dad adored Mom. Their love was a force to be reckoned with, it was powerful and long lasting.
When Dad passed in 1981, Mom continued to live her life with a passion that was never more evident than when she was cooking, dancing, and laughing with her family.
Mom remarried; she and Ron Rountree continued to respect each other and appreciate the time they had together.
Mom is survived by her two daughters Sandra Moore and Karen Olsen (Roger) and her grandchildren, Nicole Donoghue (Tyler), Kirstyn Olsen, Larry Talbert (Kayla) and Erika Olsen (Jeff Cabral). When her great grandchildren arrived, Mariah and Mason Donoghue, Mom treasured and adored them.
Mom retired after thirty years of nursing. During her retirement she traveled to Europe to visit her sisters, Gerthild Lauer and Merret Rocchese (Antonio), her brother Gerhard Bomhoff, and their families.
At Mom's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, we would appreciate that any donations be made in memory of Frauke Rountree to the American Cancer Society, or to the Hospice of San Joaquin.
We, her children, would like to add that Mom was a most remarkable woman. She was fierce, stubborn, opinionated, and feisty. We will never forget her devotion, support, and her deep love that she so generously shared with us.
