CARMEL – May Dorothy Carpenter, 80, died November 3, 2006. I thought of May today, I don't live in this area, but visited. Looked her up and to my dismay, found she had passed. I took my Dachshunds in there many times, and one time "Talia" shoplifted a red rubber ball, a few feet out the door noticed it in her mouth, we promptly returned and paid for it, graciously, no charges with the police department were sought, thank you for everything, May!.....

My mother Louise Nachman wrote "Seeing What's New With Meg" and May was one of her best clients with her store Total Dog. What a genuinely enthusiastic lover of dogs she was. I hope her vislas can find good homes.
She also found my beloved Spot at a dalmatian rescue in Santa Rosa. She greatly contributed to the world of dogs and therefore to people.

To May's friends and family:

I knew May was critically ill, but didn't hear about her death until several days after her memorial--I would so have liked to honor her at her memorial. As a veterinarian, I could always use May as a source for dog information or adoptions. As a friend, I could always count on May's frankness and great sense of humor. I will miss her terribly. I hope she is able to meet up with Gary and Dezso!!
