Merle, WWII
Lynn Girardeau
October 28, 2012
From the time I was a little girl, Merle and his irrepresible spirit stood larger than life. His mind was like a trap and so he was a treasure trove of family history, knowing stories in our family that went back two hundred years. Now he is part of that history and I vow that he will not become just a name and date on someone's family tree, but as best I can I will record who he was for those that follow. My sympathy goes out to Judy and Kathy and all who knew and loved him. I'm going to miss him so. Lynn Girardeau, his niece.

Dear Judy and Kathleen ~
My sincerest condolences regarding the passing of your father. I so enjoyed the Thanksgiving we all spent together at your home, and your dad's genuine love of hard work and the simple things in life. I'll never forget the stories he would tell as we often washed dishes together and played the piano, and how hard we laughed when he let me wear his WWII helmet! He was truly one of a kind and we will all miss him! A big hug to you and your family.

Merle was a great man, a good friend and a fine person. I enjoyed his intelligence and humor and I will miss him.
