Walter Griggs Obituary
Mr. Walter Lee Griggs Sr., passed away on November 14, 2016.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Stephens Baptist Church, 1609 Withers Street with Rev. Demond Jones, Pastor and Rev. Herbert Griggs, officiating. Interment in Eastwood Cemetery.
He was born on August 18, 1929 to Crawford and Archie Griggs. In attrition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings; Crawford Griggs Jr., James Edward Griggs and Bernice. He is survived by sons, Walter Jr., (Fanny), Roderick (Teresa), daughters, Felecia (Gabriel) Coretesand, Nicole (Royal) Boyd; grandchildren, Jason, Allison, Christopher, Jared, Sydney, D'Ante, Darius, Brandon, and Gabrielle; sisters, Arwilda Pickett,Mary (Willie) Dorsey and Felecia (Otis) Harvey; brothers, Roger Griggs, Herbert (Rosetta) Griggs and John L. (Gewendolyan) Griggs; sisters-in-law, Dorothy (Roger) Sims and Jeanette Griggs; brothers-in-law, Fred (Betty) Haley and John (Dianne) Haley. The body will lie in repose one hour prior to funeral services.
