Francesco Ammendola Obituary

Francesco "Frank" Ammendola 97, of Ambler died on August 12, 2012 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of the late Marianna F. (Pileggi) Ammendola. Frank was born in Maida, Italy on December 26, 1914 to the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Cervadoro) Ammendola. He worked for Philco-Ford Company in Lansdale as a Painter for 30 years. Frank was a member of St. Joseph Church in Ambler and was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his grandchildren. Frank is survived by his children Elizabeth Cerminara (Joseph), Maria Angela "Lina" Allegretti (Paul), Joseph Ammendola (Christie), Salvatore Ammendola (Jan), his 2 sisters Caterina Pileggi and Costantinia Iannizzi of Italy, 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his 11 siblings. Relatives and friends are invited to his Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Joseph Church, 16 S. Spring Garden Street, Ambler. The Viewing will be Friday evening from 6:30-9 PM and Saturday from 8:30-9:30 AM at Emil J. Ciavarelli Family Funeral Home, 951 E. Butler Pike, Ambler. Entombment will be in St. Matthew Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank's name can be made to St. Joseph Church at the above address. Condolences may be made at www.ciavarellifuneralhomes.com.
