Gina Schaffer Obituary

02/01/2006 - 08/01/2024

An angel was taken from earth unto heaven on her 18-1/2 birthday. Gina was involved in a fatal accident while dirt biking across Wyoming on an adventure with her dad and her beloved identical twin sister, Dinah.

Gina was the most faithful, caring, and silly person you will ever meet. She was an influential leader in many meaningful life ministries. She wanted everyone to be loved, respected, and to follow Jesus.

She is survived by her father Joseph, mother Amy, brother Elymus, sister Lucy, twin sister Dinah, and boyfriend Wyatt. Grandparents Tom and Ann Buck of St. Michael, MN and Grandpa Paul Schaffer of Savage, MN and The Villages, FL. She is loved by aunts and uncles John and Sherry, Tammy and Jason, Jacob and Genevieve, Jeffrey and Sarah, Emily and Nick. Cousins Eleanor, Adaline, Breckan, Samuel, Jillian, Natalie, Frank, Avila, Sydney, Blaise, Rosemary, Evelyn, Gloria, Victory, Henry, and William.

She is preceded in death by Grandma Doris, where they are up in heaven decorating sugar cookies together.

Services are being arranged by Peterson-Grimsmo of Monticello. The funeral service will be Thursday, August 8th at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, MN at 4pm with the visitation at 1pm. The service is being led by Gina's pastor, Jedidiah of Resurrection Lutheran Church. All are welcome to a celebration of her life at Gina's favorite place, the Schaffer house on Friday, August 9th from 2pm-midnight.

Gina was put on earth to do God's work and her greatest work was her final act.

It is with a sad heart that I write this. I'm so sorry for your loss. I loved listening to Gina's voice in church and online. Even on a bad day, her smile would make me smile and see the beauty in things. I pray God wraps his arms around you tight; I pray for healing and comfort as you go through this terrible time. I sadly understand the loss of a child, and I can only say be kind to yourself and know you are so loved by so many.
