Alice Lettie Millard was born on December 23, 1932 in Central City, Colorado, and passed away on July 22, 2025 at Hope West. She was the eldest of Ethel and Otis Millard's six children. After living in Denver, the family moved to Montrose where she grew up helping with family enterprises including the Cedar Creek Tourist Court, fireworks stands and the Star Drive-In. She attended Montrose High where she and Howard McCoid became high school sweethearts. After graduation she went to secretarial college. Alice married Howard, now in the Air Force, in 1952. They had seven children and moved around the world, living in England, Hawaii and Alaska, and returning home to Montrose after Howard's retirement. Alice worked for Sanitary Plumbing and Heating then Dahl for more than 20 years. She and Howard owned and operated The Olathe Liquor Store for several years. They fell just a few weeks short of their 60th wedding anniversary when Howard passed away in December 2012. Alice was a long time volunteer at The Senior Center. She enjoyed gardening, reading, and watching British murder mysteries. She spent many happy hours with her sister Margaret assembling jigsaw puzzles. She was happiest with a house full of family. Alice is survived by two sisters, Margaret Lanam and Phyllis Alleman, seven children and their spouses: Denise (Henry) Rosoff, Chris (Randy) Norton, Kevin McCoid, Lynn (Tim) Beckley, Teresa (Bob) Hohbein, Greg McCoid, Dee (Andy) Heavenridge; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard, sisters Eulalia Butler and Otisene Raabe, brother Bill Millard and granddaughter Dodi.
