Edward Langley Obituary

Edward Daniel "Dan" Langley Jr. left this world on 19 July 2024 from his home in Montrose, Colorado, with his family present.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Edward and Elsie Langley, sisters: Lois McKnight, Ethel Dines, Donna Hites, Doris Langley, Darla Cleer, Kathy Mansfield, his wife Bonnie Freeland Langley and daughter Stacie (Jeremy) Brown. He is survived by wife Sherry, son Eric (Rebecca) Langley, sister Mary (Goldie) Long, much loved grandchildren: Ashton, Jared, Caleb, Ethan Brown, and Easton and Peyton Langley, great-grandson Connor Brown. He will be missed by many nieces and nephews.

Dan grew up in Champion, Ohio. Following high school, he joined the Marines, once a Marine, always a Marine. He served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. Following Marine service, he met Bonnie, was married for 39 years, resulting in Stacie and Eric in Southington, Ohio.

Their family vacations and backyard clambake/barbecues were the source of many happy memories and much fun for Dan and his family. He would always say "And a good time was had by all".

Dan retired from General Motors as a tool and die maker after 34 years. He followed General Motors with the Bureau of Reclamation, retiring after five years as a plant mechanic.

Dan and family moved to Montrose, Colorado in 1999. He seriously loved and enjoyed his family. He was happy to be a good provider, though in later years he wished he had concentrated less on providing and more on his much beloved family and health. His interests included: hunting, traveling, and Corvettes.

There will be no services. Interment will be in Veterans Memorial Cemetery of Western Colorado in Grand Junction. Dan requested any money spent on flowers or traveling, instead be used on your family. Please know Dan cherished knowing you. Thank you for your love.
