Amy Winecoff

January 7, 1968 - June 22, 2024

Amy Ervin Winecoff, 56, of Mt. Ulla, NC, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2024, at Novant Presbyterian Medical Center, Charlotte.

She was born January 7, 1968, in Iredell County, to the late Gary Ervin and Darnell Ervin Stewart. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her grandmothers, Leona Hampton and Bertha Eddings. Amy graduated from South Iredell High School. She earned an associate's degree in biology from Brevard College. She attended University of North Carolina Chapel Hill for a brief period and then transferred to University of North Carolina Charlotte, where she earned a bachelor's degree in nursing and earned a master's degree in leadership and education at Regis University.

Amy worked for Charter Pines, Carolinas Medical Center, Cone Mills, and Lake Norman Regional Hospital in employee health. She was a major part of forming the Health Reach Community Clinic and the Dental Bus.

Amy loved the beach and the mountains, enjoyed collecting seashells, lighthouses, and her fur babies, her dogs and cats. She was very devoted to her family and was a loving wife and mother.

Amy is survived by her husband of 31 and a half years, Kevin Winecoff; children, Chloe Winecoff and Jamie Winecoff; sisters, Deena Webster (Cory) and Kathy Evans (Ron); stepsiblings, Emily Stewart and Darrell Stewart; stepfather, Ernest Stewart; stepmother, Susan Ervin; brothers-in-law, George McCarter (Bernie), Dean McCarter (Susan), Eric McCarter (Dianne), and Richard Beaver and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for family and friends will be on Friday, June 28, from 4 to 6 p.m., in the Heritage House of Cavin-Cook Funeral Home, with a Celebration of Amy's Life at 6 p.m. with Rev. Melaine Nichols officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Vanderburg Outreach Hospitality Fund,1809 Charlotte Hwy, Mooresville, NC 28115.

Cavin-Cook Funeral Home and Crematory, Mooresville, is serving the Winecoff family.
