Barbara Ingram Obituary

Barbara Christine Templeton Ingram

December 5, 1946 - August 5, 2025

Barbara Christine Templeton Ingram, beloved mother, grandmother, teacher, and friend, passed away peacefully at her daughter's home on August 5, 2025, after a prolonged illness. She was 78 years old.

Born December 5, 1946, in Mooresville, North Carolina, Christine (Teenie to her childhood friends, Barbara C to her grandson) was the daughter of the late John Harry Templeton and Catherine Beatrice Earnhardt Templeton. She was raised in Mooresville and remained deeply proud of her hometown roots throughout her life. A gifted student, Christine graduated as valedictorian of the Mooresville High School Class of 1965, where she was a member of the Student Council, Beta Club Treasure, Junior Marshal, President of FTA, Homecoming court was also voted "Most Likely to Succeed."

Christine pursued her passion for education at Appalachian State University, earning a bachelor's degree in education. She later completed her master's degree in education and guidance from Trevecca Nazarene College. She served as a devoted educator and guidance counselor in the Davidson County Metro Nashville School System for 27 years, touching the lives of countless students with her warmth, wisdom, and dedication to learning.

Christine was a long-time member of Hillsboro Presbyterian Church in Nashville, Tennessee, where she was actively involved in youth group and community. Later, she resided in Jacksonville Florida to be closer to her daughter and later her grandson, who were the great joys of her life.

She is survived by her cherished daughter Kathryn Kelly Ingram-Mitchell and son-in-law Garrett Mitchell; her beloved grandson Parker John Mitchell; her nephew Sean Templeton; and great niece Daisy Templeton. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister Gail Young, and brother Jerry Templeton and his wife Phyllis Templeton.

Christine's legacy is one of compassion, intelligence, and resilience. She will be remembered for her deep love for her family and friends (including the "Lunch Bunch," , "Her Beaches Sister", "Ya-Ya Sisters," the "Soul Sisters" and Ladies of Del Webb Nocatee), her lifelong commitment to education, her unshakeable faith, and never-ending smile. Her calm strength, thoughtful guidance, and bright spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

The family will announce details of the upcoming celebration of life they are holding at a later date. In lieu of flower arrangements, the family requests a plant that can tolerate full sun for Kelly's garden or donation in Christine's memory to Jacksonville Oncology Department Mayo clinic, (give.mayoclinic.org/give/614314/#!/donation/checkout) whose dedicated team works tirelessly to provide compassionate care and the highest quality of life for their patients. Special thanks to her heroes Dr. Foran, Advanced Level Practioners Sidney and Katie and dear Jennifer and the abundance of nurse angels on the Oncology Floor.

Christine would want all of us to "live, love and laugh!"

christine and I were really good friends in high school. I have thought of her often but did not know where she was. Our class reunion is coming up and I I was hoping to see her. SHE WAS ONE OF MY BEST FRIENDS. Dianne Parker Camp

Condolences to the Kelly and the family of Christine. Christine and I grew up together in the same part of Mooresville and attended Parkview School, Mooresville Junior High and Mooresville Senior High School, graduating in 1965. We kept in touch over the years from time to time as travel and location permitted. Christine was a wonderful, kind and loving person.
