Donald Summers Donald Lewis "D.L." Summers, 78, of Athens, Ga., died Monday, Dec. 27, 2010. Mr. Summers was the son of the late Lewis Clyde and Jewel Marchand Summers. Mr. Summers was a graduate of Mooresville High School and attended We-stern Carolina University. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in which he served in the Korean War. He was a loan supervisor at Security Finance for over 30 years. He was a member of Green Acres Baptist Church in Athens, Ga. Mr. Summers was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Lois Virginia Griffith Summers. Survivors include, one son, Jeff Summers of Athens, Ga.; three dau-ghters and their spouses, Debbie and Mark Davis of Loganville, Ga., Donna and Gary Carroll of Lawrenceville, Ga. and Kristy and Robert Rogers of Watkinsville, Ga.; a sister, Beverly Summers Haggar of Mooresville; eight grandchildren and a number of other relatives. Funeral services will be Thursday, Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home Chapel in Mooresville. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the funeral time Thursday at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. Interment will be at Glen-wood Memorial Park.
