Faye Hogan Obituary

Faye Rhoney Hogan

Faye Rhoney Hogan, 86, of Valdese, passed away at her residence Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Faye was born in Catawba County, to the late John Edison Rhoney and Beatrice Seagle Rhoney. Faye was a member of Valdese First United Methodist Church and worked at Broughton Hospital for 30 years; and after retirement worked at Rock Drug Store for 20 years. She was a hard worker and was always doing for other people.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stewart Hogan; and sisters, Nezzie Huffman and Dorothy Shuford.

She is survived by her children, Annette Allardyce and husband, Dave, Jerry Hogan and wife, Jane, Tannya Epley, Teresa Giese and husband, Glen, and John Hogan and wife, Joan; grandchildren, Claire Calhoun and husband, Derek, Sarah Shelton and husband, Andy, Harrison Johnson, Kelly Carpenter and husband, Rick, Jennifer Hiatt and husband, Chris, Danielle Abernathy and husband, Steven, Anna Miller and husband, Kyle, Heather Causby and husband, Doug, Clay Lohnes and husband, Rob, Tyler Giese and wife, Lauren, Jonathan Hogan and wife, Missy, Erika Newman and husband, Alex, and Joey Hogan and wife, Annie; 23 great-grandchildren and numerous loving cousins, nieces and nephews. Faye was very proud of all her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and loved spending time with each and every one of them.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, May 26, at 5 p.m., at Valdese First United Methodist Church, with Pastor Jim King officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m., at the church, prior to the service.
