John Kayga Obituary

John Kayga MORGANTON John Edward Kayga, 95, of Morganton, NC died Thursday, May 17, 2012 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health. Born December 23, 1916 in Oakland, Mich., he was a son of the late John Kayga and Ila Fralick Kayga. In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by a sister, Eleanore Dean. He was of the Methodist faith. John is survived by his wife, Thelma Williams Kayga, of the home; children, Janet Burnette and husband, Johnny, Kenneth S. Kayga and wife, Beatrice, and John E. Kayga, Jr. and wife, Brenda, all of Morganton; grandchildren, Rhonda Michael and husband, Kevin, John Burnette and wife, Sandra, Tori Townsend and husband, Richard, Connie Barrier and husband, Eric, Sammy Kayga and Laurel Morris, and Courtney Crawley and husband, Charlie; great-grandchildren, Reva Michael, Ethan Michael, Johnathan Burnette, Kaylee Burnette, Kendall Townsend, Connor Townsend, and Kolter Barrier; and sisters, Barbara Jean Sloan, of Minn., Marguerite Breeding and Delia Dale, both of Mich. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 20, at Mountain Grove United Methodist Church with the Rev. Neil F. Brantley, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the church fellowship hall one hour before the service. Sossoman Funeral Home and Crematory Center is assisting the family with the arrangements.
