Miguel Serrano Obituary
Born December 29, 1954 in Humacao, Puerto Rico, he lived in Bronx, NY, before coming to Lorain in 1968. Miguel worked at Ford Motor Company, Lorain plant for 9 years. He left Ford in 1977 to following his calling to serve the Lord as a minister. After becoming ordained, Miguel pastored at Iglesia del Buen Pastor in Lorain. In the early 1980's, he became pastor of Iglesia Pentecostal Cristo Misionera in Lorain until his retirement 4 years ago. For many years, Miguel also served as an Evangelist. He served as the youth leader at the church, and was co-founder of Ministerio de Accion. Miguel had also preached on radio and television for many years. He spent a lot of his free time visiting the incarcerated, sick and home bound.
Surviving is his son, Anthony Jeter Serrano of Lorain; his former wife, Mercedes Serrano of Lorain; nieces, Mary Serrano and Carmen Serrano-McCleese both of Lorain; brothers, Luis, Pablo, Cirilo, Felix and Julio all of Lorain; a sister, Carmen Sanchez of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Nazario and Francisca (nee Rivera) Serrano both in 1979; and a brother, Reverend Agustin Serrano in 2009.
The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-9 pm, and Monday from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Templo Emmanuel, 4230 Clinton Ave., Lorain, where funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:00 am. Rev. Daniel Reyes, Pastor of Templo Emmanuel will officiate. Burial will follow in Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst, Twp.

Have great memories when I used to play bass at Rev. Miguel Serrano's church on 22nd st. He mentored us, encouraged us and even wrestle the guys when we had those youth retreats. I can't forget the matutinos ( Christmas Caroling)we used to go to, those were the days. The greatest memories thou were his preachings, God Blessed Miguel with spreading the good news in a powerful way. Prayers for the Serrano Family and Rev. Miguel Serrano, Rest in Peace, y hasta luego Siervo de Dios!
