DAVID RUSSELL ROBINSON, JR.
AUGUST 11, 1957 - DECEMBER 13, 2013
Sonora resident, David Robinson, Jr., died December 13th while at home. He was 56. He was born with Down Syndrome and was raised in Modesto, CA. David was the son of Dave (Robby) and Bonnie Robinson and had three sisters. David was the baby of the family. 
 He graduated from John F. Kennedy School at the age of 18 in Ceres, CA. David lived at home with his parents until the age of 28 when he decided to move and get a job. David relocated to Sonora in 1986 where he lived with his sister. He joined the WATCH program in Sonora which began his life career in his new town. 
 He refinished and made furniture and later became a janitor. He was dedicated to his work and refused to miss a day. David's life was at the Sonora Fitness Center. He loved to swim, exercise and flirt with all the pretty girls. David loved bowling, boating, Yahtzee, dominos, horseshoes, checkers, the WWE wrestlers, music, birthday parties, dancing and imitating Elvis Presley. David's goal was to become independent and live on his own. On his 55th birthday he achieved his dream. He had his own apartment. He loved to ride on the dial-a-ride buses and go shopping with the supported living girls who drove him all over town. There is no person David met that David didn't love. His friends were many.
 David is survived by his parents, Dave (Robby) and Bonnie Robinson; sisters, Cynthia Teague of Manteca, Carol Robinson of Oakdale, and Teresa Smith and brother-in-law, Gary Smith of Sonora; seven nieces & nephews; thirteen great nieces & nephews; and many cousins. 
 Viewing Thurs., Dec. 19th from 5-8pm at Eaton Family Funeral Home, 513 12th St., Modesto, CA. Services will be held Fri., Dec. 20th, 10:00 a.m. at The Well in Waterford, 13027 Yosemite Blvd., Waterford, CA 95386. 
 In lieu of flowers, donations in David's name may be made to WATCH Resources, Inc., 12801 Cabezut Rd., Sonora, CA 95370.
