Marjorie Leroy

1939 - 2014

Marjorie Leroy, 75 of Prairie Village, KS formerly of Girard, KS died at 8 a.m. Saturday November 22, 2014 at her home in Prairie Village.

She was born May 4, 1939 in Pittsburg, KS the daughter of Fredrick Charles and Ruby (Brown) Ladd. Marjorie was a 1957 graduate of Pittsburg High School.

Marjorie married Philip Leroy on October 9, 1958 in Pittsburg, KS; he preceded her in death on June 29, 2007.

She lived most of her life in the Southeast Kansas area, but had lived in various locations during her husband's military career. Following Philip's retirement from the military he and Marjorie moved to and remained in Girard until 3 years ago when Marjorie moved to Prairie Village.

Marjorie was a seamstress working for various businesses throughout her career.

She enjoyed playing bingo, being involved in genealogy, was a member of an organization called Mac Corp. She was a very creative and crafty person.

Survivors include a son Jeff Leroy of Girard, KS; a daughter Paula Bair and husband Jed of Prairie Village, KS; a sister Roselea Bussone of Pittsburg; 5 grandchildren and 2 Great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a son Philip David Leroy in 2002 and 2 brothers Charles Fredrick and Jerry Wayne Ladd.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday December 1, 2014 at the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home in Pittsburg with Reverend Jim Sukraw officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Scott National Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service time on Monday prior to the funeral.
