Died: July 18, 2015; in Morris, IL
Bonnie Lee (Peel) Stua, 67, of Verona passed away Saturday, July 18, 2015, in the Morris Hospital.
Born September 8, 1947, in Morris Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Delmar and Hortense (Delk) Peel.
Bonnie was raised and educated in Morris, attending Morris High School and graduating with the class of 1964. She worked for Riverside Hospital in Kankakee for many years until her health prevented her from working.
Bonnie married William Francis Stua on June 16, 1973. He and their youngest son, Nicholas Allen, preceded her in death in 1994.
Bonnie loved everyone and was known as the "neighborhood grandma". She loved to interact with her grandchildren as well as children of the community. Bonnie touched so many lives and would speak to anyone, meeting a stranger and walking away as a friend. She loved animals, reading and writing short stories. Bonnie loved to laugh and always had a positive outlook on life regardless of how she was feeling herself.
Surviving are two children, Anthony (Taryn) Stua of Crete, IL and April (Russel) Phillips of Verona, IL. Four grandchildren, Gage and Avery Phillips and Taylor and Brayden Stua. Several nieces and nephews .
She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Delmar "Butch" Peel and Michael Lee Peel.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 21, 2015, from 4:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the U. C. Davis-Callahan Funeral Home in Morris. Enhanced video tribute will be shown during the visitation. A Celebration of Bonnie's Life will be held immediately following the visitation at 7:30 p.m. with Pastor Robert Sathuri officiating.
In lieu of flowers, preferred memorials may be made to Bonnie's family.

"Bonnie loved to laugh..." brought back happy memories from Nettle Creek Grade School and Morris Community High School. Bonnie was a good friend of her classmate/ my sister and of mine, too.
I extend my sympathies, especially to her children and grandchildren. Her joy will be missed.
