Audrey Irene Eix

Audrey I. Eix, 95-year-old resident of Little Falls, MN, passed away Friday, January 13, 2023, at Riverside Assisted Living in Royalton, MN.

Funeral service held on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls, MN, at 10:30 A.M., with Rev. Dave Sperstad officiating. Visitation held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M., and again on Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 9:30 - 10:30 A.M., at the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls. Burial at Oakland Cemetery. Caring for Audrey and her family is the Shelley Funeral Chapel in Little Falls.

Audrey Irene Blanchard was born on July 24, 1927 in Randall, MN to the late Delbert and Ethel (Horton) Blanchard. She was united in marriage to Robert A. Eix on November 26, 1946 at First Baptist Church in Little Falls. They made their home south of Little Falls where they raised their nine children.

Audrey spent many hours cooking, baking, canning, gardening, making wine, doing laundry, sewing, attending church and school events, and chasing cows, being a taxi driver to not only her children but often times, their friends too! She loved to press flowers and leaves and use them in various crafts. Audrey collected cookbooks and over 400 teapots! She had a reputation for the best orange rolls in the county. Audrey was an avid bowler for over 50 years, a member of the Variety Garden Club, which involved working at the county fair, and a cook at the VFW for many years. Township elections could count on her as an election judge too.

Audrey and Bob opened Eix Implement, selling International Harvester machinery in 1962 which continued for over 40 years. Audrey was the bookkeeper, parts person and "controller."

She remained active throughout her 95 years in her children's and grandchildren's lives. She will be missed by all.

Audrey is survived by her son, Fred Eix (DeDe Shmitz); daughters, Kathy Bzdok Riitters (Bob), Linda LeMieur (Bob), Pat Eix, Cindy Denzen, Carol Lawrence (Chuck Larson), Chris Eix-Asmus (Keith), and Amy Suhr (Jeff); 27 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Audrey was preceded in death by her husband in 2004; son, Robert F. Eix; grandchildren, Amber Bzdok and Tyler Boody; sons-in-law, Peter Denzen and Ed Bzdok; her parents and a brother, Forrest Blanchard.
