Jimmy F. Schultz, age 78, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2024, at St. Benedict's Senior Community.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, February 9, 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Sartell with the Rev. Ron Weyrens officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the hour of the service at the church. Interment will be at St. Mary's Catholic Church Cemetery in Little Falls, MN. Arrangements have been entrusted to Williams Dingmann Funeral Home in Sauk Rapids.
Jimmy Fred Schultz was born on April 15, 1945, in Seattle, WA to Otto and Rose (Huber) Schultz. Jim and his family moved to Minneapolis when he was twelve years old. Later the family moved to Little Falls, MN. Jim married Joanne Doroff on September 7, 1964, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Belle Prairie, MN. Jim was a member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church. Jim and Joanne started Central Marble Products, Inc. in 1976 in their garage then moved the company to Elk River. The final location for the company was Rice, MN. Due to Jim's health issues, Jim and Joanne sold the company in 2000.
Jim enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, an occasional round of golf, old cars, and jigsaw puzzles. Jim also enjoyed his Merdian Boat, "Marble Castle." Jim always wished he could have spent more time boating on Leech Lake. He enjoyed spending time at Cochran's Marina visiting with family, friends, and other boaters. Jim was an animal lover, especially cats and dogs! He enjoyed spending time with Parker, the resident cat, at St. Benedict's Senior Community.
Jim is survived by his wife, Joanne; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Walter and Patricia Andres; nephews and nieces, great nephews and great nieces, Dennis and Sara Schultz, Delton Schultz, Mickel Schultz, Gracie Schultz, Katie Schultz, Jill Thelander and significant other Jeremy Luberts, Erin and Philip Lonneman, JoAnn Andres and Michael Norby; longtime friends, Rick Baumgartner, John and Wanda Baumgartner. Jim is also survived by nieces and nephews, Christine and Scott Eggerth, Charis and Rodney Rudolph, Theresa and Donald Blaisdell, Judith Fredrick, Ricardo Schultz (Denise Pollard), Douglas and Paula Schultz; many great nieces and nephews, relatives, friends, and his pet kitty, Ruby.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; Joanne's parents, Walter Doroff and Esther Doroff Sobiech; brother, David Schultz; sisters, LaVon Schultz and Dianna Goebel; infant brother; nephew, David Thelander; niece, Gayla Kroll; stepfather- in-law, John Sobiech; brother-in-law, David Goebel; sister-in-law, Mercedes Schultz; and pets, Nikki, Gizze, Nala and Pumpkin.
Thank you to Centra Care Hospice for your kindness and exceptional care given to Jimmy. Thank you to the Dialysis team and the many doctors and nurses at St. Cloud Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Centra Care Clinic River Campus, St. Cloud Orthopedics and St. Cloud ENT Clinic. Thank you to Dr. John Johnson, Jimmy's former doctor, and Dr. Dixon, and Nurse Debee.
A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff, past and present, at St. Benedict's Senior Community. The care given to Jimmy will always be remembered. A sincere thank you to Kristin and everyone at Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home. Thank you for your sympathy, kindness, and professionalism during this difficult time.
