PENDLETON, IN -- Brian S (Kong) Deel, age 65, died peacefully Tuesday, February 21, 2023, at his home in Pendleton, Indiana with his loving wife by his side.
He was born February 8, 1958, in Mt. Gilead to the late Kenneth L. and L. Ruth (Pemberton) Deel.
He worked at HPM for many years. To most people around Morrow County, he was known as Kong and that name followed him throughout his life.
He is survived by his wife Lou Ann (Stephenson) Deel, her 3 sons, Elliott (Anupama) Stapleton, John Paul (Renee) Stapleton, and Kyle Wright, siblings Sandy Ackerman, Keith (Jan) Deel, Beverly Deel, Steve (Connie) Deel, Sue Deel, Ray (Trish) Deel, nieces and nephews Erin Deel, Colleen Deel, Paul (Ashley) Gullett, Lacy (Dustin Bovee) Ackerman, Tyler (Jen) Deel, Jared Deel, Kyle Deel, Clay Deel and his beloved dogs Skooter and Skeeter.
There will be visitation at First Baptist Church in Mt Gilead Saturday, March 4, 2023, from 11:00 to 1:00.

Kong is a name I heard often from my brother, Curt. They were good friends and he was included in many of Curt's stories of their escapades. They are now reunited and probably laughing together again. My condolences to you and your family. He brought joy and friendship to mine.
