Cecilia M. Helbig 1927 - 2008 PENN YAN - Cecilia M. Helbig, age 80, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2008, at home. Friends may call on Wednesday, March 19, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Weldon Funeral Home, 102 E. Main St., Penn Yan. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at St, Michael's Church, by Father Peter Clifford. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Penn Yan. Contributions in Cecilia's memory may be made to Ontario Yates Hospice or St. Michael's School. Cecilia was born in Malone N.Y., May 10, 1927, to Adolphus J. and Lillian H. (Stone) Malette. She was a nurse in the U. S. Army. She was a communicant of St. Michael's Church; a member of Penn Yan American Legion and Penn Yan Elks Club. Cecilia is survived by three sons, Roger W. (Elizabeth) Helbig of Richmond Calif., Carl D. Helbig of Farmington, Paul A. (Krystal) Helbig of Houston Texas; two daughters, Alice (Albert) Sturckler of Binghamton, Martha Phillipone of DuBois Pa.; sister, Doris Curtin of East Rochester; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews as well as nephew, James L. Robideau of Penn Yan, Lynne Tyler of Geneva, Phyllis Robideau of Ga., Mary (Stanley) Wexler of Pa.; "helper angels" Tracey, Kelly, Amy, Catie, Dorissa Janet and Tonia. She was predeceased by husband, Roger W. in 1997; five brothers and one sister.
