Anna Jeanette Sorrel, 78 of Midland TX passed away, Sunday, May 26th, 2024, after a long battle with Peritoneal Mesothelioma. Jeanette was a strong woman, full of love, laughter, and resilience. She touched many lives and is greatly missed.
Jeanette was born in Hobbs, N.M. on April 17th, 1946, to Lillian and Gaines C Brooks. She grew up and attended school in Jal, NM. Jeanette worked at Carrol Plumbing/Spring Water in Midland until retirement.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Harvey Brooks, Jim D Brooks and John W Brooks. She is survived by her loving husband, Mickey Sorrel, daughter, Donna Byford (Joey), son, Mike Shannon (Carol), stepson, Philip Sorrel, stepdaughter, Stephanie Hill and her sister, Annette Rankin; also survived by her grandchildren, Slade Byford (Ashlin), Courtney Byford, step-granchildren, Tosha Compian (Michael), Tabitha Sorrel, and Haley Sorrel and Zachary Engbrock. She was blessed to have great-grandchildren, Elyse Byford and step great-grandchildren, Braxton Gober, Isabella Bomar, Lori Maddaford, Karyn Compian, and Michael Compian. Jeanette was survived also by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
As per Jeanette's request, there will be no services. We as a family wish to thank, Dr. Mangat and his staff at West Texas Oncology and the Hospice of Midland for helping Jeanette and the family through this difficult time.
