Bobby L.Stovall Obituary

Bobby L. Stovall Sr., of Midland, Texas, was called "Home" on November 12, 2022 by his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He was a devoted husband, dad, granddaddy, great granddaddy, brother, and friend. A memorial service is scheduled at 11:00am Friday, November 18, 2022 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Greenwood. Bob was born on October 1st, 1940 to beloved parents Rev. J.W. Stovall & Velma Lee Stovall. He spent his early childhood in Ft. Worth near family and made many memories there. In 1949, they moved to No Trees, TX where his dad was called to be the pastor of the Baptist Church. He had many stories of hunting rattlesnakes and prowling the countryside with friends. The family moved to Midland in 1952 when his dad was called as pastor of South Memorial Baptist Church. Bob graduated from Midland High School in 1958. He married the love of his life, Jackie Elaine Hill, on November 6, 1959. He lost her in 2018, just a month shy of their 60th wedding anniversary. Bob worked with his brother Richard at Stovall's Garage after high school and joined the Midland Fire Department in 1962. He worked there for 7 years and then got into the insurance business. He formed Independent Appraisal Service of West Texas in 1975 and worked there until retirement. Bob enjoyed spending time with family, hunting, fishing, RVing, and watching his grandkids' sporting events. He was very mechanically inclined and he could do anything that he put his mind to. Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jackie, his brothers Jimmy and Richard Stovall, his in-laws Travis and Lorain Hill. He leaves behind to cherish his memory his sister Vernenece Anderson, sisters-in-law Winn Stovall and Sally Meurer, his three sons Bobby Stovall Jr and wife Stephanie, Travis Stovall and wife Shelly, and Jim Stovall and wife Shanna; his grandkids Daniel Stovall and wife Ashley, Josh Stovall and wife Michelle, Matthew Stovall and wife Kaedy, Jessica Ripley and husband Hunter, Dodge Stovall and wife Macy, Jes Stovall and wife Megan, Sonny Stovall and wife Joyce. He is also survived by great-grandkids Maggie Ripley, Gunner Stovall, Chase Stovall, Wade Ripley, Sutton Stovall, Rylee Stovall, Jacob Stovall, Emmitt Stovall, Sawyer Stovall, Samuel Stovall, Scarlet Stovall, Berkley Stovall, and Owen Stovall along with numerous nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be his seven grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Fellowship Baptist Church Building Fund (Church, 10700 FM 307 Midland, TX). A special thanks to Tammy and to Star Hospice for their care. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. I was very sorry to read of Bobby's loss. We were classmates at MHS and regretfully saw one another only related to reunions..until he inspected my roof in the 80's, reporting my denied roof claims from hail/rain storms were denied. He FIXED that problem. He was a great gentleman. Blessings to your family.
