Bruce Weigel Obituary

Bruce Alvin Weigel, beloved father, brother, and son was welcomed into his heavenly Fathers arms, Thursday, March 31, 2011. Bruce was born in Salina, KS on August 13, 1948, to Alvin and Doris Weigel. Bruce moved to Midland in 1961 and graduated from Robert E Lee High School in May 1966. He worked for Drilco from 1967 till 1984 as a machinist, but his true love was playing his bass guitar. Over the years he played for "Shade Country", "David Price & Blackjack Band", "Kurt Weston & The Storm", "Eddie Rivera & The Breeze" and "The Broken Spoke Band". Bruce is preceded in death by his son and best friend, Toby Weigel; parents, Alvin and Doris Weigel; and Uncle Hubert Weigel. Left to cherish his memory is his two daughters, Laura Coleman and husband Ray, of Odessa, TX, and Tammie Welch and husband, Van of El Paso, TX; sister Pam Bryant and husband, Bob of The Woodlands, TX; and aunt, Mary Ann Weigel of Gorham, KS; six grandchildren Kelton Weigel, Christopher Welch, Kirstine Welch, Kaytlin Welch, Sumer Cline (Coleman) and husband, Keith, and Kelsey Coleman,; one great-grandchild, Connor Cline; one niece, Tiffany; two nephews, Rodney and Randy. Pallbearers will be Ray Coleman, Van Welch, Gary Welch, Alan Morehead, James Thompson, Norvel Vogel, Jason Waller, and David Nicholas. We love and miss you Dad, now you and Toby are together rejoicing in Heaven. You will both live in our hearts forever. A funeral service will be held today at 1:00 p.m., at Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Chapel. Interment will follow in Serenity Memorial Gardens. Funeral service is under the direction of Lewallen-Garcia-Pipkin Funeral Home. Family messages and condolences may be emailed to: [email protected].

Miss you and Toby so glad we were all friends. Bless you and your family may you both always be surrounded by Gods angels.
