Charles Keller Obituary

Charles F. Keller, 95, of Midland, passed away Friday, January 8, 2010. He was born to Charles Anthony and Sallie Virginia Keller (Cook) on August 3, 1914 in Enid, Oklahoma. He married Frances Letcher Hammit on August 9, 1972. Charles attended school in Enid, Oklahoma and graduated from Enid Business College in 1933. In 1941, he started work for Phillips Petroleum Company in Chicago, Illinois before being transferred to Midland, Texas in 1952 as the Assistant Division Landman. In 1962, he resigned from his position as Division Manager of the Land and Geological Department of Phillips Midland Division to become an Independent Oil Operator. In 1970, he accepted a position with Northern Natural Gas Company to organize and manage an Exploration and Production Division in Midland. He remained in this position with Northern Natural Gas Company until his retirement in 1980 and at that time became an Oil and Gas consultant. Charles was a member of Midland Country Club for over forty-five years where he enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances on May 26, 1994. He is survived by his children, Carol Mhoon of Antonito, Colorado and John Hammit of Kerrville, Texas; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Sunday, January 10, 2010 between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. Graveside Services have been scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 11, 2010 at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. Condolences may be offered at www.ellisfunerals.com.
