Christopher Suiter Obituary

Christopher Michael Suiter, 33, of Midland, departed this world and went to be home with his Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was prematurely born on September 11, 1987, in Odessa, Texas, to Jeffrey Dean Suiter and Kathryn Elizabeth Fisch Suiter. Christopher graduated in May of 2006 from Robert E. Lee High School where he was involved in PALS, Yearbook Staff, and Football. He was a member of the National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, PTSA, D-FY-IT, Texas Scholars, and Who's Who Among High School Students. Chris was an Honor Student and 1st Vice President of his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Class. He was also voted Mr. Academic on the Rebel Court. He received the Downtown Lion's Club Junior Lion of the Week Award. Chris was a Fellowship of Christian Athlete's Huddle Leader and a member of the First Baptist Youth Group. He enjoyed volunteering at Manor Park, MCRC, First Baptist Church, and working part-time at his father's company, Suiter Surveying. After graduation, he attended Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas, where he graduated in May 2011 with a Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Communication Studies and a Minor in Psychology. While there, he worked at Schlitterbahn and did his student teaching at San Marcos High School. He volunteered at the Boys and Girls Club in San Marcos. He often talked about how much he enjoyed his time there. After college graduation, Christopher moved to Lubbock where he lived with his brother, Jonathan and substitute taught for Lubbock ISD. A year later, he moved to New Orleans where he lived with his childhood friend, Dillon Butvin. While there, he worked at the Whitney Hotel. After spending about a year there, he moved back to Midland and taught at Premier High School for two years before moving back to Lubbock, so he could spend more time with his brother, Jonathan. During the three years he was there, he worked several odd jobs. He moved back to Midland in 2017 and worked for Luchini & Mertz Surveying Company as a draftsman for a couple of years. But, his deep love and desire for teaching led him to his last job. In 2019, he became employed with Midland ISD and accepted a teaching position at Lee High School teaching Algebra and Geometry. He was very special to many of his students. Many former and current students would stop by his classroom to say hi or visit with him during their lunch period. He also kept lunch money in his desk to give students that did not have money for lunch. Christopher believed in living life to extreme but always placed God first throughout his short journey on earth. His beautiful smile and blue eyes could brighten anyone's day. He had a heart of gold and a very caring soul. His joking manner and exceptional outlook on life will truly be missed by his family and friends. He often said he was an old soul. God blessed him with many talents. As a young teenager, he taught himself to play the guitar and soon began writing his own songs. Later he taught himself to play the harmonica and piano. He attempted to learn how to play the bagpipes and most recently the saxophone. Christopher loved to write poetry, and, although it was never completed, he was writing a book. Chris was an intelligent, deep thinker. He loved to read and collect his favorite books. One of his favorite hobbies was playing video games by himself and with friends online as well as collecting retro video games. He enjoyed snowboarding, golfing, fishing, and traveling. He loved playing various sports as well as watching them on TV and always looked forward to the Olympics. At a young age, like his dad, he became a huge Denver Broncos fan, and he never hid the fact that he did not like the Dallas Cowboys. He cherished his two Dachshunds, Ali and Lucy, who accompanied him on his journey through his many jobs and travels. Christopher loved playing games with his friends and family. His favorites were poker with his friends and monopoly and any type of trivia games with his family. His love for his family was boundless and loved how they could talk about anything. But, most of all, he loved his brother, Jonathan. They shared a very special, close relationship and Christopher was so proud of him. To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his loving parents, Jeff and Kathy Suiter of Midland, Texas, his brother, Jonathan Suiter of Lubbock, Texas; his Grandmother, Patricia Fisch of Blanchard, Oklahoma; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, September 16, 2021 at the Branch at npw. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, September 17, 2021 at First Baptist Church Chapel. Pallbearers will be Ruston Hicks, Brian Jumper, Dillon Butvin, Sean Johnson, Collin McGuire, Henry Stevens, Chris Brindle, Brandon Hedrick, and Chris Hawkins. Brian Jumper will also officiate the memorial service. The family wishes to thank DeLaura and Terry Gammage and Ruston Hicks for all of their love and support during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Midland Boys and Girls Club, Lone Star Sanctuary for Animals, or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle & Welch Funeral Home & Crematory of Midland. Online condolences can be made at www.npwelch.com.

My fondest memory of Chris was when he and several other young men performed a skit/dance to the song "Come on Eileen" at a pep rally their senior year at Lee High School. I actually kept in touch with him for a short while when he was going to school in San Marcos. I know you guys are proud if the young man he had become. Always smiling and always respectful. My deepest condolences to the family.

Chris came into our lives when he was in 3rd grade and left us way too soon. We have soooo many great memories of him and will cherish them forever! Rarely a get-together goes by without a memory of Chris popping up! He will live forever in our hearts and be missed dearly.

Haven´t seen Chris since his teenage years. He was always the most polite and respectful among his peers. Deepest sympathy for his family.
