Courtenay, This is Gina Anderson writing again ... would hope you will see this and be able to give me a call ... to remind you , my parents were next door neighbors .. you knew them as a little girl by the names George and GeeDee Allers ... I am so so grateful for the phone call I had with your dad at a time when he either was unaware of any illness or just preferring to not tell me .. but I was again thankful for the chance I had to call him when he was on my mind once as I was driving from Arizona to California.. I was recalling the special friendship he and my parents had and i wanted to tell him thank you once again for that friendship ... it meant the world to me as it did for them ...

I recall how he was so proud to tell me about the 3 wonderful granddaughters he had and some of their accomplishments.. oh courtenay , I am sure you miss your dad .. and Im so sorry for your loss .
Please call me when you can
Thank you .

I'm sorry my earlier message is not appearing for some reason ... Courtenay, I wanted you to know I was trying to reach you and to tell you how sorry I was to just recently hear of your dads passing.
What a great friend he was to our family ... moms d dad moved in next door to you all in 1977 I believe ... what a blessing he was in Friendship and then later after dad died as a real help to my mom ... we will never forget him ... I will ALWAYS appreciate what a good friend mom and dad ( George and Geedee Allers ) had in Don .. I did not realize he was ill but was so grateful I had called and gotten ahold of him to talk earlier in 2017... I always wanted him to know how much we appreciated him ..
God bless you, Courtenay and your family ...
Gina Anderson 602-460-3577 is my cell .. I live in Arizona

Courtenay, I knew your dad for 18 years. I work for Alamo Concrete as their project engineer and became acquainted with him since he was our neighbor and I was in charge of some projects close by. As I got to know him I enjoyed visiting with him as we sat in the front looking at the yard he was so proud of. I would bring him Honey Baked Ham gift certificates or gravel for his driveway. Sometimes I would stop by just to help fix something for him. He always said that wasn't necessary but I enjoyed doing things for him because the visits were pleasant.Don knew he could call David Johnson, the other engineer with Alamo,or me and I wish to extend that same courtesy to you. My number is 210-260-3878. I will be unable to attend the service as I will be out of town. Please call if i can be of any help. Mark Ince

Don was like a second father to me when I was younger, and a good friend when I got older. He had a great personality and sense of humor, loved to laugh, was caring and would give you the shirt off his back. I will miss him very much.
