Edward Sperl Obituary

Edward Sperl, of Midland, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007.

He was born August 17, 1921 to Joseph Sperl and Anna Jonas Sperl in Long Island, New York. A veteran, Edward proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Air Force. He achieved the rank of sergeant and received Victory & Good Conduct Medals and the American Theater Ribbon. On March 12, 1945, he married Patsy Ramsey in Odessa, Texas. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2006. Prior to his retirement, Edward was a type setter with Qualified Printers.

He was also preceded in death by his son, Joseph Dan Sperl in 1983.

Edward is survived by his grandchildren, Joe Sperl, Danny and Teri Sperl, Georgia Sperl, all of Midland, TX; Janey Sperl of Abilene, TX; Jon and Christy Sperl of Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Sarah Sperl, Justin and Nathan Sperl, Ryan and Tyler Sperl, and Emily Grace Sperl.

The family will receive friends at Ellis Funeral Home, Wednesday, April 18, 2007 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M.

Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 19, 2007 at Ellis Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Rick Holeman officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joe Sperl, Danny Sperl, Robert Fowler, Lee Leonard, and Tom McLean. Arrangements are under the direction of Ellis Funeral Home. To place on-line condolences visit www.mem.com.
