Hollie Sockwell Obituary
She was born July 11, 1979 in Abilene, Texas to Bill Cathey and Cindy Antilley Cathey. Hollie enjoyed hobbies that were always helping others. She was a true take charge" person with a smile that was as sweet as sugar. Her eyes were truly the "window" to her soul that endeared everyone who ever met her. Hollie married the love of her life, Jeremy Sockwell, in Winters, Texas on June 7, 2003. She instantly became an integral part of his family. She was always cooking, refinishing furniture, organizing, working at Basic Energy Services; all while caring for and considering the needs of others including Big Boy and Tinker Bell, their dogs. Hollie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her savior at the age of 16. Heaven has gained a true angel that will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her. God has loved her always and he is now holding her in His arms.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, Frank K. Antilley; grandparents, George Cathey and Doris Smith; and cousin, Clay Antilley.
Hollie is survived by her loving husband of five years, Jeremy Sockwell of Midland, Texas; parents, Bill and Cindy Cathey of Wingate, Texas; sisters, Cara Ledbetter and husband Brad of Goldsboro, North Carolina; Kourtney Cathey of Dallas, Texas; grandmother, Marianne Antilley of Wingate, Texas; Hollie's extended family; Lyn and Deborah Sockwell; Dustin and Christi Sockwell and children Haley and Reagan; Michael and Kristen Wheeler all of Midland, Texas; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and many, many friends.
The family will receive friends at the Christian Life Center Thursday, September 18, 2008 between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 8:00 P.M. in Midland, Texas. Funeral services have been scheduled for 1:00 P.M. Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Christian Life Center in Midland, Texas. The family will receive friends at Jones Hall in Winters, Texas from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, September 19, 2008. Services will also be held on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 2:30 P.M. at the First Baptist Church in Winters, Texas, where she was a member. Interment will follow at Wingate Cemetery in Wingate, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Justin LaForge, Dustin Gragg, Dustin Sockwell, Jason Corbell, Nathan Young and Bo Madison.
Memorials may be directed to the American Cancer Society, 2304 W. Wadley, Midland, Texas 79705, or First Baptist Church, 104 W. Truett St., Winters, Texas 79567.

Hollie could always brighten your day with her quick wit, and clever since of humor. I had the pleasure of meeting Hollie in person last month, after three years of working together.
