To the Longbotham Family:

I met Jeff several years ago when Riviera Energy assisted my firm with a sale of properties in Loving County, Texas. I was immeasurably impressed with Jeff as a honest and sincere man of integrity and was grateful for the superior job he did. I looked for him each time I attended the North American Prospect Expos in Houston and saw him just last August and am shocked to learn of his recent passing. The oil and gas industry has lost a fine man and I will always remember Jeff and will miss seeing him. I'm so sorry to hear of your loss but I'm sure you find comfort in knowing that Jeff is in the presence of the Lord.

I was so sorry to hear of your loss this morning when Aunt Terrell called. It is difficult to fathom the meaning of the last year of trials you all have endured. I hope and trust your faith will carry you all through the weeks and months to come.
Much love from your San Antonio cousins,

Katy,
I am so sorry for you and the family. Jeff and I were very close since our freshman year at Tarleton, thru the good and bad times. He was truly one of my best friends. I know it seems untimely, but I am sure God has a plan for him as well as for you and yours.
Our thoughts, condolences, and especially prayers go out to you and yours.

Sincerely,

Katy, Jared, Leslie & Jacob. I am so very sorry. Although I have known Jeff for over 20 years, I only became close to him in the last few years. I can tell you, we spoke many times about how very blessed he was by God allowing him to have each of you in his life. There is no way for us to understand many things. I do know this: Nothing is allowed to touch the saints, without first passing through the Loving hands of God. That applies to both Jeff and to each of you. I also know that God always does the right thing. May you each rest in God's Loving hands until you see Jeff again. With much Love....

As another fundraiser for the NKF, I met Jeff and played golf with him last year. After five hours I felt as if I had a new good friend, he was engaging. I also remember him constantly calling his son about a cattle show, he clearly loved his family.

I could not believe it when I heard of Jeff's accident with his arm and I thought and thought of him and meant to call and check on him or go by and see him. Then, my mother told me that he had passed away. I am so very sorry for you and your family. He was a kind and compassionate man and he worked way too hard. I wish you two had more time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. I know he had a good heart. My husband and I worked for Jeff doing the pond and we became friends with him. We will keep you and your family in our prayers. He was truly a "nice guy". Look to God for He is the lifter of our head. Ronn and Missy Madrid (Reese and Chad), Midland, Texas

"I rode with Him - I got no complaints." He had a tremendous amount of sympathy for me when my sweet one passed 4 1/2 yrs ago. I always appreciated that. He was eternally grateful and never forgot where the seed capital for Riviera came from.

I'm certain the one I was blessed with has welcomed him to the streets of Gold - where there is no more pain.

God bless you all - he will be missed - and for the record HE Did Git-R-Done! Celebrate his life that's what he would want.

"DO NOT LET YOUR HEARTS BE TROUBLED. TRUST IN GOD; TRUST ALSO IN ME. IN MY FATHER'S HOUSE ARE MANY ROOMS; IF IT WERE NOT SO, I WOULD HAVE TOLD YOU. I AM GOING THERE TO PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU. AND IF I GO AND PREPARE A PLACE FOR YOU, I WILL COME BACK AND TAKE YOU TO BE WITH ME THAT YOU ALSO MAY BE WHERE I AM. YOU KNOW THE WAY TO THE PLACE WHERE I AM GOING." JOHN 14:1-4
