John Brose, age 92, passed away in his sleep on September 23 at Sage Springs assisted-living in San Marcos, Texas. He had been battling pancreatic cancer since February.
John was born in Kansas City, Kansas, but was raised from the age of two in Wichita. He attended the University of Kansas where he earned a degree in Petroleum Engineering. At KU he met the love of his life, Sharon Parker.
After college graduation, he served in the US Air Force. He completed his pilot training flying F-86's, a highlight of his life.

John loved all sports especially baseball. He pitched and played first base in high school and at KU. His homes in Park City and later Midway,Utah, gave him ample opportunity to ski and golf his heart out. He skied until 86 and golfed until his cancer diagnosis.
John is survived by his devoted wife Sharon, his daughter, Susan (Jon) McKeon of Tucson and his two sons, Tom (Cheryl) of San Marcos and Greg (Lucy) of Evanston, Wyoming. Grandchildren: Mike (Nikki) Mckeon, Katie McKeon, KatieBeth (Mark) Squyres, Sarah (Reagen) Squyres, Dan Brose, John Brose, and Margot (Brian) Maxwell.
