Jon Hughes Obituary

Jon James Hughes was born September 26,1966 to Margaret and James L. Hughes in Midland, Texas and passed on the be with the Lord September 23, 2008. Jon graduated from Lee High School in Midland and over the years lived and worked around Texas and Oklahoma.

Jon loved all things western, loved horses, hunting of all kinds, and woodworking. He is survived by his wife, Tammie Hughes and son Alex Hughes of Midland. He is also survived by family members, father James L. Hughes and his stepmother Ruth, of Midland, mother Margaret Stratieger and stepfather Jim of Amarillo, Texas, brother Jeffrey R. Hughes and wife, Laura and their son Kolter, of Ten Sleep Wyoming. He had many nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts around Texas which he adored.

Jon fought a long hard battle with Type 1 diabetes since he was one year old that took a terrible tool on his body and we are praising God that Jon is free of the suffering now and with his Lord. In lieu of flowers we ask for contributions to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

Graveside services are pending and will be at the Fluvanna Cemetary in Fluvanna, Texas.

To Jim and Ruth...So sorry for your loss! It never seems fair when a parent out lives their children. God must have really needed him on His side. We will pray for you and your loved ones.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I worked with John when I was 16 at the movie theatre. He was a good person and I'm so sorry he was taken away from you all so soon. My prayers are with your family.
