Margaret Lambeth Obituary
Margaret Jean Lambeth, 89, of Midland, went to be with Jesus surrounded by her loved ones on Thursday August 4, 2022. Services will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 9, 2022 at First Baptist Church in Munday, TX. Interment will follow at Brushy Cemetery in Knox County. Margaret Jean was born March 11, 1933, in Throckmorton County, TX to Vester and Mary Bowman. She grew up on the family farm in Haskell County and attended school in Goree, TX where she met the love of her life, Bob Lambeth. She went on to attend Hardin Simmons University where she earned her degree in education and was also a member of the Cowgirls, Chapel and A Capella choirs, rodeo club, art club and Future Teachers of America. She moved to Midland in 1953 where she began her teaching career with MISD. The majority of her 40 years in education was spent teaching second grade at West and Sam Houston Elementaries. Jean married Bobby on August 7, 1954, in Goree after he returned from Korea. They made their home in Midland where they raised their three daughters and shared 68 years of marriage. Jean was a long-time faithful member of Alamo Heights Baptist Church where she served in the choir, taught Sunday school, worked VBS and other mission projects for many years. She was also an avid sports fan who seldom missed a sporting event that any of her children or grandchildren played in. She loved to travel the world with her sister, play cards with the family, and could light up a room with her beautiful blue eyes. Margaret Jean is survived by her husband, Bobby Lambeth of Midland, Daughters Cindy and husband Mel Riddle, Susan Griffin all of Midland, Lisa, and husband Charlie Binder of Millersview, Tx. Sister, Nancy Bowman of Midland, Grandchildren Suzanne Moore and Mike Durow, Rodney Riddle and wife Barbara, Angie and husband Robert Sterling, Holly Neely, Hillari and husband Zach Gould, Coleton Stewart, Christopher Wells and Samantha Cason, Whitney Wells and Will Richardson, Joshua Binder, Ashley Binder and David Newbold, Nicholas Binder and wife Ashley, Chelsie and husband Josh Johansen, Great grandchildren, Svana, Jakobe, Allexis, Ryleigh, Madison, Hudson, Holden, Ryann, Colt, Jaylyn, Paxtyn, Jace, Bentley, Declan, PJ, Marcus, Cian, Jaxon, Isabella, Kaylin, Ainslee, Sariah, Caleb. Margaret Jean was preceded in death by her parents Vester and Mary Bowman, Granddaughter Griffin Anderson, and Son in law Travis Griffin. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in her memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation. \
