In my senior year at LHS, Ms Huckabay was my photo-journalism teacher. And even though it was an elective for 1 semester, she had such an impact on me and I cherished my time in her class! She was one of the teachers that inspired me to major in communications in college. When I talk to friends from high school, her name always comes up as one of the favorites. Sending prayers for peace and comfort to her family and friends.

Ms Huckabay was my favorite English teacher.. really my favorite teacher!
I wrote a short essay in her English class about "The Different People" she see at church.. She laughed so hard & told me how good it was, my words was so descriptive of the people that she could actually imagine them. She was a teacher that believed in me when I was so unsure of my self at that age. She told me I was going to GREAT in life...when I returned home to visit after Desert Storm.. she told me "Tracy, I´m so proud snd I always knew you would go and do big things in life". L
I was speaking at a Women Veteran function a few years ago & told the audience how my high school English teacher Ms Huckabay was an influence & told me that I can be anything I want to be in life..so I became a soldier!
RIP Ms Huckabay

Mrs. Huckabay was my English teacher as a sophomore at Robert E Lee high school 1984. Back then, I was a difficult and troubled student. I then had her again in 1986, the moment I walked into her class, she took one look at me and told me to leave her classroom and head to the office because she didn´t want me in her class to deal with me again. I was able to convince her to give me a chance and show her I was different. She gave me that chance! That first day she had the class write an essay. I wrote down my testimony, I explained how I had given my life to Jesus as junior in high school and how Jesus had powerfully changed my life! After I finished the essay, gave it to her, I watched as she sat down and grabbed her pen and started reading and making corrections to my essay. By the time she had finished, she was in tears. She looked up at me and smiled and said, Robert that was amazing! Mrs. Huckabay was the teacher God used to help me develop my writing skills. I have used her in several sermons that I preached throughout the years. I´ve been a Christian since 1985 when I got saved and Pastor a now for almost 30 years. Thank you Mrs. Huckabay, because of you and the chance you gave me that day, many lives have been changed! You taught me not only writing and English skills, you taught me that difficult people deserve a second chance. My deepest condolences to the family. She made an impact on her students!

I was on the yearbook staff with Paula at Robert E. Lee High School, a way back in 1970-71. I did not have a closer friend. I very much regret that life took us different paths that did not cross again. Requiescat in pace, my good friend.

May each of you cherish your precious memories of Paula. I only knew her for a short time here at the Oaks. We were in an exercise class together, and Paula was making improvement each class. It was such a shock to lose her. God bless and keep you.

Paula and I knew each other only a short time. We were in an exercise class together at the Oaks with a few other ladies. We encouraged and supported each other. Paula was a joy to know and was working diligently to get in better shape. I enjoyed the short time I had with her. I´m so sorry for each of you in this loss. Cherish your precious memories.

I am heartbroken over the loss of Paula.
We were great friends at LHS, graduated together and became suite mates at TTU.
Many great and special memories in high school and in college.
Such a beautiful shinning star on Earth and now a brilliant star in Heaven.
I will miss you...
